Community News Transformation Grants provide awards of $30,000-$40,000 and cohort-based support over a term of one year for community college-based team projects that:
Broaden community and organizational participation in New Mexico’s local news and information ecosystems, and
envision sustainable pathways for participants to apply journalistic skills via trainings, educational credit, paid part-time or full-time jobs, fellowships, internships, or entrepreneurship.

Projects may be led by faculty, staff, or administrators and may be based anywhere in the college, including but not limited to offices, centers, programs, or departments dedicated to community engagement and education; journalism, media, and communications; workforce development; cultural education and outreach; adult education; the arts and humanities; innovation; or business development.
